Dementias - decreased cognitive abilities - are associated with aging, but also can occur as the consequence of various disease states. The diagnosis of dementias is a specialized area, requiring neuropsychological testing combined with neuroimaging. Although a number of medications have recently been introduced for treatment of dementia, indications for their use often lack quantifiable points and measureable milestones documenting halting of disease progression.

Pre-senile dementia and abnormal loss of cognitive ability in the young, healthy person is also occuring with greater frequency. Facilities need to be available for the private, discrete testing of individuals for their own information and peace of mind. Companies may want their key emloyees screened for ability to function, or continue to function in critical posts.

Cognitive Engineering, LLC offers confidential patient evaluations to determine if this is a problem for your patient, what is the cause, to what extent is there a difficulty, what can be done to preserve cognitive functions and return areas already lost, and determine if your medication regimen is working, of no effect or even harming your patient.
